Donating & Recycling in Greater Vancouver
Where Do Your Donated Items Go
We send items to the landfill only when there's no other option. Before anything is thrown away, we assess it for donation or recycling first — usable goods go to local charities, electronics go to certified e-waste recycling, and landfill disposal is always the last step, not the default.
Salvation Army
Furniture, household goods, and clothing in good condition are donated to the Salvation Army, supporting their community programs across Greater Vancouver.
Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver
Usable building materials, appliances, and home goods are donated to the Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver ReStore, with proceeds funding local affordable housing.
Big Brothers
Clothing and household items are donated to Big Brothers to support youth mentorship programs in the community.
MCC Thrift Shop
Reusable goods are donated to the MCC Thrift Shop, where proceeds support community and relief programs.
Electronics Recycling Association
Electronics and e-waste are processed through the Electronics Recycling Association rather than landfilled, keeping hazardous materials out of the waste stream and ensuring responsible disposal.
Our Landfill-Last Commitment
Every item we handle goes through the same sequence: reuse or donate first, recycle second, landfill only as a last resort. This keeps our environmental footprint as low as possible and directs usable goods back into the community instead of into the ground.
